10,000 EUR for children and refugees

Björn Lorenz03/09/2020

Remember? In 2019, we decided to do Christmas a little differently. Instead of handing out gifts as usual, we thought we’d donate our holiday budget to people who truly need it. We left it up to you, our customers, to choose the relief organization that should receive our financial support.

Over 460 customers across the EU took part in the selection process, held November 27 through December 23, 2019. In the end, the most votes went to Plan International, a children’s relief organization that supports and promotes the advancement of young people in Asia, Africa and South America.

Plan International came away with over 24% of the total votes cast. The organization will be receiving a check for 5,000 EUR. Plan International uses the donation to finance early childhood education projects in Cambodia. Among other things, 14 kindergardens will be newly built or renovated.

Second place, with over 20% of the votes, went to Worldvision. This relief group helps children and families in need in more than 100 countries and will be receiving a 3,000 EUR donation.

Just behind them, the organization CARE took third place with almost 20% of the votes. This refugee aid organization supplies people with food, water and emergency shelters on site when everything is destroyed by war or catastrophes. CARE can look forward to a check for 2,000 EUR.

“We live in a world of limited resources and great need. So we should always ask ourselves whether our funds are really being applied wisely and effectively. We’re happy to be helping people in difficult situations with our fundraiser," says Uwe Bergmann, CEO of the COSMO CONSULT Group. The three winners will be receiving their donation checks within the next few days.
