Gero Brinkbaeumer09/15/2016

Like in the past years, Microsoft again is going to announce the new version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) – the worldwide established business solution for medium-sized enterprises – at the Directions EMEA partner conference which this year takes place from the 12th to 14th of October in Prague. Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 continues the successful ERP product line with numerous enhancements and new functionalities and improves workflows with a deeper integration of Office 365 and Outlook.

In general, the new and enhanced features of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 are referred to three areas: the enhancement of core functions, the closer connection with mobile Office procedures and the user friendly adaptation to individual business needs. In addition to that the basic CRM features of Microsoft Dynamics NAV have been revised together with the possibility of easily integrating Microsoft Dynamics CRM with the help of a new assisted setup guide.

Through deeper connection with Office 365 customer data can directly be synchronized from a mobile Outlook interface with the ERP system. This for example enables sales representatives to create and send invoices on site by using the Outlook Web App (OWA) and to hand them over via PDF to Microsoft Dynamics NAV, where the documents will automatically be scanned and digitized by an integrated OCR service for further processing in the ERP environment.

“Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 offers a great number of enhancements and new possibilities in all functional areas,” states Klaus Aschauer, chairman of COSMO CONSULT. “Especially the borderless integration of classical ERP processes with flexible, mobile working scenarios exemplifies what is possible with modern business solutions, today.”
