Berlin/Germany, 05.02.2016. The globally operating COSMO CONSULT group, Europe’s largest Microsoft ERP partner, provider of business solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics and industry specialist for manufacturing, project-based services and supply industry, presents in exhibition hall 4 a visionary, integrated industry 4.0 and Internet of Things solution scenario, based on Microsoft technologies and a conjoint research project with Fraunhofer society. COSMO CONSULT chairman Klaus Aschauer states: “I believe no similar consistent business case is likely to be found at CeBIT.”

Based on Microsoft Dynamics together with a certified COSMO CONSULT business solution, the scenario shows a virtual customer project, where a new plant construction component is determined, set up by an integrated product configurator and financially calculated. The comprehensive result is transferred to Microsoft Word as part of Office 365 and stored in SharePoint online based document management system cc|dms. After the assignment the plant construction is designed, executing CAD data and 3D models by Autodesk Vault. After this, all relevant project data for the technical execution is transferred to the project management office platform based on Project Server and SharePoint via the Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

The certified industry solution cc|project executes financial supervision as part of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP suite. All operated transactions from production to inventory management or activities on the downstream construction site can immediately be evaluated and analyzed across any software module with the Power BI Business Intelligence solution. A digital site plan enables personnel orientation on the building site, while an object tracker helps to online identify material, tools or machinery as well as in the manufacturing process and on-site. These IoT applications directly emerged of the conjoint research projects of COSMO CONSULT and Fraunhofer Society.

The solution is unique because of its integrated, seamless mapping of all relevant operations from the customer request to the assembling, the financial and technical project management, construction planning and execution, object tracking, accounting and post calculation – all based on Microsoft technologies and Microsoft certified COSMO CONSULT add-ons. On top of that, the ongoing project with Fraunhofer Society represents an IoT and Industry 4.0 scenario which shows future possibilities in today’s business reality. “We are connecting different applications scenarios by cross-linking them with Microsoft technology”, Klaus Aschauer describes the presentation. “These are not interfaces in a classical sense, but associations of system worlds. Only our industry know-how together with these technology platforms makes this consistency possible.”
