On November 13, 2024, the official starting signal was given for one of the key projects in VELO DE VILLE’s digital transformation journey: With an intensive kick-off day and in close collaboration with our long-standing digitalization partner COSMO CONSULT, we began a new era in ERP, the migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud.
A Day Full of Insight and Vision
The day began promptly at 9 a.m. with a special opening: a comprehensive tour of our manufacturing facility in Altenberge. For the consulting and development teams from COSMO CONSULT, this was more than just a walkthrough, it was a valuable opportunity to experience first-hand the processes, challenges, and unique aspects of our custom-made production. After all, our manufacturing is as individual as our bicycles, and that’s exactly what the new ERP system is designed to reflect.
Starting at 10 a.m., all project participants, both from COSMO CONSULT and VELO DE VILLE – gathered for a joint workshop. The agenda for the morning was clearly structured but intentionally interactive:
- Introduction and presentation of the project teams
- Definition of project goals
- Presentation of roles and responsibilities within the project team
- Overview of the planned approach and project methodology
- Insights into the project timeline and initial milestones
- Organizational coordination for project work
- Final discussion with open feedback and a look ahead
- Introduction to Microsoft Business Central as the core system
The morning was characterized by mutual understanding, strategic foresight, and a shared determination to create something sustainable. The joint lunch that followed, featuring cream soup and potato bread, offered not only a culinary refreshment but also a space for open exchange and peer-level networking.

Since then, we have shaped many milestones together: the introduction of our ERP system, the integration of our webshop, business intelligence with Qlik, our CRM system, and now the next major chapter: the switch to Business Central Cloud. Our goal is ambitious, yet clearly defined: a modern, scalable, and future-ready system landscape that supports the individuality of our product philosophy to the fullest.
