Following a successful project kick-off, VELO DE VILLE has now entered the next key stage of our ERP migration project in collaboration with COSMO CONSULT: the COSMO CATALYST workshops. The central focus of this workshop series was a key question: 'Which processes exist  and how should they function in the future?

For a company like ours, which embraces the highest degree of individuality in manufacturing through its Custom-Made concept, this is no simple question. That’s why it was all the more important to create a structured, open, and methodologically sound environment — precisely what COSMO CATALYST promised to deliver.

What is COSMO CATALYST?

As we came to understand through the workshops, COSMO CATALYST is not a conventional consulting approach. Rather, it is a facilitated process that enables all stakeholders to collaboratively and equally define the foundation for future systems and operations. The method is characterized by three key principles:

  • It enables a holistic view of topics and processes.
  • It encourages creative problem-solving free from predefined solutions.
  • It supports collaborative results without prescribing immediate answers.

Importantly, COSMO CATALYST does not deliver ready-made concepts or requirement catalogs. Instead, it lays the groundwork for companies like VELO DE VILLE to analyze, strategically evaluate, and evolve their own processes independently.

Even before the first workshop, we actively prepared our teams. In an internal announcement, all participants were asked to critically reflect on their current processes:

  • “Which processes are absolutely essential for you?”
  • “Are there workflows not currently mapped in NAV that should be?”
  • “Which processes are important but currently inefficient or overly complicated?”
  • “Where is information missing that you need to work more effectively?”

These guiding questions sparked in-depth discussions even before the workshops began – a crucial factor in the depth and quality of the sessions that followed.

Co-Creation: Department by Department

The workshops, expertly moderated by Maik Donner (COSMO CONSULT), were conducted in close cooperation with executive management, the project leads, and the relevant departments. Each session followed the same structure:

  • Comparison of current vs. target processes
  • Gap-fit analysis with Business Central and COSMO standards (at a high level)
  • Prioritization of identified gaps
  • Integration of processes into the COSMO process map

This structured approach enabled us not only to gain a deep understanding of our current workflows but also to develop a shared vision for future processes – practical, cross-functional, and strategically aligned. Documentation was done live during the workshops using a Miro board.

From Workshop to Digital Process Map

All outcomes were then systematically transferred by COSMO into Microsoft DevOps – creating a structured, digital process guide for the next phase of the ERP upgrade project. This now serves as a central control tool and reference point for everyone involved.

A key takeaway: the more closely departments were involved in shaping and defining their processes, the greater their current willingness to actively adapt, monitor, and improve them in the new system. The workshops not only brought clarity, but also strengthened commitment and motivation across the board.

Conclusion: Processes with Perspective

The COSMO CATALYST workshops proved to be a valuable format for us, not only for reflecting on existing processes but also for thinking about them strategically, with a clear goal in mind: to actively shape the path toward a modern, scalable ERP system based on Microsoft Business Central.

Together with COSMO CONSULT, we have established a solid foundation — one that not only digitally maps our Custom Made model, but also supports its systematic advancement.
