Operators of technical facilities must make investments at certain intervals in order to maintain and expand those facilities and adapt them market requirements. To do this, they carry out a series of technical projects, CAPEX (capital expenditure) and OPEX projects (operating expenses, maintenance, and standstill projects). Depending on their size and complexity, these projects have project running times ranging from a few days to several years. Due to their size, their technical requirements and the availability of the necessary technical facilities, they entail a considerable risks for operators. In addition, such projects are characterized by the interplay of many stakeholders, often a whole network (operators, contractors and suppliers). Applications, calculation, planning, execution, monitoring, feedback and controlling of corresponding projects present a challenge for every operator.
