"More than packing" was the motto of MEDEWO GmbH. Which is true, seeing as the packaging specialist has more than 3,500 products in its portfolio, including pallet trucks, paper towels and disposable tableware. Founded in 1993, the Swiss company also has branches in Austria and Germany. MEDEWO is one of the leading suppliers of packaging materials in German-speaking regions.
Customer service and consulting are a key factor in the success of the company. The better the information base of the field staff is, the higher the quality of consulting and service will be. That is why the ERP systemMicrosoft Dynamics NAV, which MEDEWO has been using for many years, needed to be supplemented by a mobile solution for work in the field. "Each of our sales representatives is responsible for around 600 customers. Until now, this meant we had an immense flood of paperwork. After all, it was not possible to access current prices and delivery conditions during customer appointments without an Internet connection," explains Stefan Schwanda, Head of IT at MEDEWO GmbH. The packaging specialist thus went looking for a mobile solution for Dynamics NAV - and it found one at the COSMO CONSULT Group, Europe's leading Microsoft Dynamics partner.
The centerpiece of the mobile concept is Anveo's mobile sales app, which is designed to work with Dynamics NAV. Sales representatives can use the mobile client via tablet or smartphone to do the following:
If there is no internet access on the road, not only the business data but also the process data is still available offline. This ensures that employees can continue working in all situations without restrictions. The data is then afterwards automatically synchronized as soon as there is an internet connection. The Anveo mobile sales app helps the field staff save time. Visit reports that are entered on the road can be immediately accessed by staff in the office and processed further. Long waiting times, double entries and elaborate reworkings are thus eliminated. "The flow of information between field and office staff has improved significantly thanks to the mobile sales app," confirms the Head of IT. And there is one more thing he is very satisfied with: COSMO CONSULT managed to make the administration and setup of the mobile solution simple and intuitive. Since the packaging specialist also took over a large part of the program setup itself, the project came in around 15 percent under the planned budget.
